AccountEdge and AccountEdge Network Edition 2011

The 2011 versions of AccountEdge are compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 with the following exception:

In order to process credit cards within AccountEdge and AccountEdge Network Edition, you will need the latest update. This update is Build number 15.0.9 (US) and 15.3.2 (Canada). Without this update, you will receive the following error message: "The authorizer is not responding... ."

AccountEdge and AccountEdge Network Edition 2010
The 2010 version of AccountEdge have not been fully tested with Mac OS X 10.7. Acclivity tests and updates the latest shipping versions of the software.

However, at this time the only known Lion issues are associated with credit card processing within the software. Processing of credit cards will not function with these versions and Mac OS X Lion. It is recommended that users on these versions either upgrade to the 2011 version of AccountEdge or refrain from upgrading to Lion.

2009 and Earlier Versions of AccountEdge

Versions 2009 and earlier of AccountEdge are not compatible with Mac OS X Lion. Some known issues:

  • Credit card processing will not function with these older versions of AccountEdge.

  • Online Activation and Confirmation will not function with Mac OS X Lion due to a change in the operating system. This older licensing model was replaced in the newer versions of AccountEdge after Acclivity acquired MYOB US, Inc. (ongoing file Confirmations are not required in the new model starting with v2010). You can continue to use the phone method of confirmation.

As we prepare to sunset these older versions of AccountEdge with that licensing model, it is strongly recommended that users upgrade to the current version of the software. Upgrading your company file is a simple process (the process has not changed from prior versions) and all of your data and forms will be migrated to the new version.

FirstEdge v1, v2 and v3

FirstEdge is not Mac OS X Lion compatible. Due to a change in the operating system, users will not be able to process credit cards or perform ongoing online Company FIle Confirmations. Although phone confirmations continue to operate, it is recommended that users upgrade to AccountEdge Basic.

AccountEdge Basic, which replaces FirstEdge, was recently released. Beyond the name change, an updated command center and new features, the software contains the same base functionality and your company file upgrades easily. In the next year, the FirstEdge product, including its licensing model, which was managed through the former parent company MYOB, will be sunset.

For those customers processing credit cards within AccountEdge, due to a framework that is no longer available in Lion, processing credit cards that are stored on the payments gateway (i.e., you have previously processed a payment for this card in the past) is not functional. You will receive the following error message: "The authorizer is not responding..." You can continue process cards by selecting New Card and re-entering the card number.

An update will be available within the next week to address this issue. If you are processing credit cards, we recommend that you delay migrating to Mac OS X 10.7, Lion until this update is available.
