I/O Error -5000 in Reset Routine

(IO Error -5000 5000)

You will receive this error if you do not have Read/Write permission on the AccountEdge program folder and contents. This applies to AccountEdge as well as AccountEdge Network Edition running on Mac OS X.

To eliminate this error:

Verify the permissions on the AccountEdge or AccountEdge NE folder within the Application directory:

  • Highlight the folder and select Get Info from the File menu.
  • Under Ownership and Permissions, make sure all 3 levels of ownership have 'Read and Write' access.
  • Click the Action box, and apply these permissions to all enclosed contents
