Software Requires AccountEdge 2009
The message "MYOB AccountEdge Tax Update can't be installed on this computer" occurs when the update installer can't find AccountEdge "receipt" files. These receipt files are created when AccountEdge is installed. If these files do not exist in the correct location on your hard drive, there is no indication that the AccountEdge software is installed on your machine.
To confirm that this is the issue, look for the following file in your main Library directory:
For AccountEdge Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts MYOB AE App 1300.pkg
For AccountEdge Network Edition Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts MYOB AENE App 1300.pkg
If this file is missing, you will not be able to install the update. There are a few reasons could cause this to occur:
AccountEdge wasn't originally installed via the installer but instead copied to the application folder from another computer The receipt files were deleted from your computer *The receipt files were not able to be created on your computer when first installed
To resolve this issue you can either reinstall software and then install the update (please make sure to backup your data and files), or you can download a new set of receipt files and manually copy them into the correct directory.
To Manually Copy Receipt Files
Click the link below and download the zipped up folder that
contains the receipt files. Once the file has been downloaded,
double click on the file named ArchiveAEV9.zip
(ArchiveAENEV9.zip) to unzip the folder. This will create
a folder named RECEIPTS AE (RECEIPTS AENE). Copy
the contents of this folder (not the folder itself) to the
Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts folder. You can do this either by
dragging the files to this location or copy and pasting them.
You will also need to ensure that AccountEdge is installed in its default location and default directory name. The following is where the update will be looking for the application in order to update. Please make sure that your software is found in the following location:
For AccountEdge Applications/MYOB AccountEdge 2009 (v9)
For AccountEdge Network Edition Applications/MYOB AccountEdge NE 2009 (v9)
Once you have copied the receipt files and confirmed that AccountEdge is installed in the correct location you can run the update again.
