Processing a Quick Sale

Background

The credit card swiper (credit card reader) used with AccountEdge Mobile on the iPhone and iPad is the Magtek iDynamo.

  • There are two separate swipers: One for devices with the lightning port and a second for the thirty pin connector
  • The Micro USB connector on the swiper would be used to connect the swiper to another device via USB. This feature is currently untested and unused.

Notes:

  • It is NOT Plug and Play — you must fully close the AccountEdge Mobile app (close application and double-click home button & remove from that list); plug in device, then relaunch AccountEdge Mobile.
  • This may NOT work when there is a case on the phone or iPad

Regular Sale

Once a sale is created in AccountEdge Mobile, a credit card can be processed.

In order to enter credit card details, the Payment Method must be selected as Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, or Discover. Once the payment method is selected, the Detail button will display

Swiping

After selecting the Details button, you will be prompted to swipe the card or add a new one

At this point, you can simply swipe the card. A good swipe results in card confirmation window

Tapping authorize will authorize the credit card.

Key-Entering

After selecting the Details button, you will be prompted to swipe the card or add a new one

At this point, you can tap the Add New Card Number button. The Payments Gateway window will display.

Tapping Submit will authorize the credit card.

Note: Credit cards cannot be swiped in this display.

Quick Sale

This is a picture of what a quick sale looks like:

* You must set up a default customer before Quick Sale can be used

Swiping

After choosing Items or simply entering a dollar amount, total will show.
At this point, you can simply swipe the card.

A good swipe results in card confirmation window.
Tapping authorize will authorize the credit card.

Key-Entering

At this point, you can tap the Continue button at top right. The Payments Gateway window will display.

Tapping Submit will authorize the credit card.
