Conflict between AppStore & Free Trial?

All,

I'm considering trying AE by downloading a free trial from this website. However, in the past when I have tried free trials from vendors' websites, and then later purchased the full working retail version via AppStore, they almost always conflict and do not install properly unless I completely uninstall the trial version first. MY QUESTION IS, is AE smart enough to look for a trial version and only ask for a license key if it finds an existing trial version so I can keep the data I've input during the free 30-day trial.

Your help and guidance is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Greg,

This kind of depends on which product of ours you are looking at. AccountEdge Pro is not offered on the Mac AppStore. AccountEdge Basic is. Most likely if you buy AccountEdge Basic from the AppStore after downloading a trial from our site, you will have to uninstall and re-install. Generally, there are different install processes for apps downloaded form the AppStore and general downloads from a website. So, I'd recommend you just purchase the product through us and you'll get a serial number to just plug into your existing trial to be done with it.

Thought so. Thank you for the reply.

Next time your CEO invites you out to lunch, you might want to mention to him that you'd make more sales if you solved (and publicized that you solved) this problem.

One of the things I like MOST about using a MAC is that if I purchase all my apps thru the AppStore, when my laptop dies / gets stolen I can buy my new one, set-up iTunes, and ZAP! everything's back the way it was (sans the data - thank you iCloud).

    Happy New Year!
