I'm a current FirstEdge user. Is it possible to upgrade from
FirstEdge to AccountEdge Pro for Mac?

Hi Mike:
You certainly can upgrade to AE Pro. The upgrade price is
$159.00. You just need to install the AE Pro program on your Mac.
If you're looking to "upgrade" your FirstEdge file, just try to
open it with AE Pro and you'll get a message to the effect that
it's not a current version file and asks if you would like to
upgrade. If you follow the prompts it will walk you through the
process which makes a file in AE Pro and automatically imports all
your FirstEdge data into it. AE Pro is Lion compatible.

Hi Michelle. I'm working with Mike to upgrade but when I log on it shows the upgrade price as $199.00. Was the $159 you stated in your e-mail below correct or am I having issues with your site?

Hi Mike:
The $199 price may be from an earlier trip to the site (the
upgrade price was changed with the launch of AE Basic) - the cart
drops a cookie on your computer. If you delete the cookie - you
should be able to login and see the updated $159 price - or you can
call Customer Service at 800-322-6962 and we can take the order
over the phone. Whichever is easier.
Is FirstEdge being phased out with the company being acquired by
Acclivity? I was looking to see if my version is compatible with
Lion before upgrading to Lion. I found little about FirstEdge to
answer my question.

Hi Laurel:
No the upgrade is not free. If you call Customer Service at
800-322-6962 Monday through Friday - you would be charged the
"upgrade" price of $79. The price needs to be manually adjusted so
the purchase cannot be made online.

Hi Laurel:
FirstEdge has been replaced in the product family by AE Basic - here's a link to the product page -
http://accountedge.com/mac/basic/
AE Basic will allow you to "upgrade" your FirstEdge company file and is Lion compatible.
