AccountEdge vs Quickbooks Non-profit
I manage a small youth soccer academy (non-profit), and I am trying to decide between AE and QB non-profit. Please discuss how easily AE generates reports for Form 990 and 1099s for subcontractors. Thank you.

Hi Shannon,
AccountEdge is not promoted for non-profit accounting, but it can be used for non-profit organizations. See Using Accountedge for a church for another discussion about using AccountEdge for non-profits.
In regards to sub-contractors, AccountEdge can print out on a 1099/1096 form, but the 990 form is not included in the software. You would have to fill out the 990 form by hand.
Have a great day.

Thank you Morgan. This helps give me some insight for sure. How would you rate the performance of AE vs QB non-profit from a Mac perspective?

We think we have the best product for Mac. Period. That's our niche, we develop for the Mac. Our program was designed by a guy who was passionate about giving small business owners the ability to run their businesses, not necessarily to be the easiest to use. Not to bash QB's because their the industry leader but we just look at things a little differently.
We're a much smaller company than QB's so we don't have customized versions for specific industries but I think we've learned through experience that not every non profit is set up the same way. We offer a discount for non profits that may offset having an "out of the box" solution.

Thank you so much Michelle. You have sold me on your product! Please send me purchase information for a non-profit. I want to get started right away!
