Just finished setting up AEM. When in AEM on iPad, none of the Invoices on the desktop version appear in the Sales:Invoice section for me to see or edit. The only things that seemed to have synced are cards. None of my desktop pre-existing transactions have synced. What am I missing?

    Hi Steve,

You are not missing anything. AEM will help you record many everyday transactions (using the lists you synced to your iPad) and sync them back to AE on the desktop. Transactions created on the desktop are not synced to AEM.

Argh! That was EXACTLY what I needed. I often start an invoice on the desktop and wanted to be able to take it with me on the road as I added service items to it off site.

So everything other than cards is a one way street - anything created on iPad goes to desktop but not the other way? What about a transaction created on iPad? Once it is created and synced does it disappear from the iPad so it can only be edited on the desktop?

Yes, that's correct. AEM is a mobile transaction entry tool for AE on the desktop. Transactions created and synced do not disappear from the iPad you can view them in the Transaction lists, however, they are locked and can not be edited. All transactions can be edited on the desktop.

Wow. That's EXTREMELY disappointing. For me, the whole point of having a mobile app was to use it in a mobile situation where I didn't have desktop access. Much like Filemaker Mobile (or FM Touch) or Daylite / Daylite Touch.

    For example:

    • Meeting with a client off site and they want to pull up their invoice as they have questions on it and we decide we need to make some edits on it

    • Working off site and adding items to an invoice that was started on the desktop as services and inventory have to be used on site

    • Being in a meeting with management and being asked for a specific report and pulling it off the iPad

Seems like NONE of this can be done "mobile". I need to add, edit and delete on the iPad. The iPad app is really just a "dumb" data entry terminal then. This really was a useless upgrade for what I needed.

Have to ditto this disappointment. When I am not in the office, yet I get a call from a customer, I want to be able to bring up their invoice and answer their questions. Seems to be a great idea, but it needs a lot of improvement. I need the invoices, not just their names.

    AE please make this change.

I agree, I had wrongly assumed that you could amend an invoice using drop box like a hub as there are instances where a customer will make a part payment on site and amendments to the order. Very disappointing. Also if I am off for a few days I was hoping I could use the app to keep up to date very disappointing and to a degree useless.

As stated above by Todd, the Mobile Application is used for entering in New Transactions. We do appreciate the feedback from users.

Please, please, please allow invoicing features as described above by Steve, Karen and Lyn. I truly appreciate your effort with going mobile but I have to say, for me too, not being able to view invoices created on my desktop Mac or change invoices while on the road is a deal breaker. What's the point?

AccoutEdge Mobile gives users the capability of creating transactions (Spend Money, Invoices, etc) while you are away from your computer without having to carry around your AccountEdge Company File.

Its not certain if this feature will be available in up coming releases of Mobile, but we do appreciate any feedback to better improve the Application.

I would have to agree with the above comments,I would love if the option was there to edit past invoices or at least be able to pull up history,Very disappointing. Also is there a way to edit the invoice, quote etc numbers so at least I can continue numerically with invoice on the desktop when I am mobile on the ipad??

    Hi Alan,

At this time there is no way to edit the transaction numbers, but we are working out how to implement this - its literally on the white board in the office (really...).

As for reading invoices created on the desktop, we hear you and everyone else in this thread, although there is no news to report on that its very much an idea we want to pursue.

It's a shame that AEM won't mirror sales from the desktop version. Was hoping it would. Looks like I won't be upgrading to AE 2011. I'll still use my 2007 AE instead.

It is something that we are considering to incorporate in the future. Unfortunately there is no time frame that I can provide for you of when/if this would be possible. We do appreciate your feedback on improving AccountEdge Mobile.

Please mirror the sales from the desktop to the mobile app. I didn't realize that it didn't do that. I was in a client's office and he offered to pay me the remaining balance on an invoice. I thought I could pull it up on the mobile app but couldn't. I sent him an invoice when I got back to the office but I still haven't been paid.
The app is a great idea and this will make it complete.

We are working on only displaying Open Invoices/Receivables in AccountEdge Mobile. As of right now we do not have an exact time frame of when it will be available. Please visit our blog (http://acclivity.tumblr.com) for the most up to date information.

This is very disappointing, why make an app that is only one way. If I create an invoice and then sync with the Mac version, and then change it and try to sync it back to my devise, the changes don't sync. Then you have the same record that doesn't match with your desktop. This creates problems, and I guess I wasted my money on my upgrade because I only upgraded to use the mobile app. I suggest you find a way to fix this and add these features because with out them it is pointless. I also use Billings Touch and Daylite Touch and these two programs work great. I wish account edge worked similar. I have been a customer for over 10 years, and it is time to really go mobile completely. Thanks for considering our suggestions.

I have also been a long time user of AccountEdge and have always been more than satisfied with it's operations. The mobile app is the first time that I've felt like it has fallen short. I hope this feature can be added in the future.

    Hi Geoff and Dave,

Thanks for the feedback. Our goal for AEM was to create a mobile app so our customers could enter the transactions they record most often while away from their computer. While we do not currently have plans to sync all sales transactions from the desktop back to the mobile app, we do plan to enhance AEM's ability to show open Accounts Receivable invoices and let users apply customer payments against those transactions.

We do consider all the suggestions we get, many get done and some do not, but they all get debated and discussed. While that means the app may not (ever...) meet your particular needs, we know we can't mimic 20+ years of desktop development on an iOS device and make everyone happy. That's the frustrating part of what we do.

    Todd,
I'm happy with the desktop software. I'll go so far as to say that Acclivity is the best thing to happen to MYOB ever. I mean that.
But continuing to ignore the popularity of this complaint suggests Acclivity is debating and discussing the wrong features. If the value of this request cannot be understood, how can Acclivity develop a mobile app that we find truly useful. Instead of bantering with us, make it so.
Speaking strictly for myself, how much money do you intend to spend developing an app I'm not going to use?

And by the way, let's ask Filemaker if they agree with your analogy about not being able to mimic complicated desktop applications. While we're at it, let's ask Apple why they continue to advance their desktop OS to behave more like their iOS.

Remember that intelligent people use your software. Don't patronize us. Not cool.

I too just purchased this software to be able to copy and our use old invoices as a base for new invoices as I do a lot of repeat work (same work with the same prices). It would be nice to start on desktop and go into field with the invoice ready or to pull up an old one from the customer to create a new one.
