Do you get this when trying to log on to your application on
your Mobile Device?
Try deleting the Device under the Device Manager, unlink and
relink everything back up. Once it is unlinked and relink, set up
your device again and try to sync with your Desktop and Dropbox.
Once the sync is successful, log in to your Mobile Device.
I get the error while in AccountEdge in the Setup/AccountEdge Mobile/Manage AccountEdge Mobile. I put in my account and password and press link and receive the error message. I can't get to the point of fiddling with it on my mobile device as I can't get past this point.
I'm getting the same error when trying to link my dropbox
account. At one point there was even an accountedge folder in my
dropbox account, but accountedge still said it could not connect. I
deleted the accountedge folder in dropbox and tried again. I still
get the same error.
Simon is following an issue that several developers have
reported to Dropbox. He posted a message back on the main AE Mobile
forum page, below is what he wrote, we'll let you know when we get
confirmation it is working.

Due to an update by Dropbox to their systems, the ability to
link to your Dropbox account results in the error message:
"The Dropbox account could not be linked. Please verify the
Dropbox account and password entered and try again".
It has been reported to Dropbox by Acclivity and other software
developers who have integrated applications. We are anxiously
awaiting a fix to the problem.
I am having what appears to be the same problem in this discussion. 1) in the Apps folder of my dropbox account is an AccountEdge folder. That was created after I authorized the link 2) My Dropbox software is current and I can access it accross my PC's and iPad except for AccountEdge 3) in the Device Manager screen of AE the tab for DEVICES is unavailable, the tab for DETAILS allows me to select "Link to Dropbox" 4) when I click YES to the API request that I have authorized AE to my Dropbox account I get an error message saying the dropbox account could not be linked.! I am stuck! I am running AE 2012 v21 build 16.3.5A
One more. I have the same problem. I upgrade to AE2012 USA version, to AE2013, and them followed the instructions about Dropbox API Changes. But when I tried to make the instruction: "Relink Accountedge Pro 2013 with Dropbox" AE only says "The Dropbox account could not be linked.
Please verify the Dropbox account and password entered and try again."
I am stuck too. Please, somebody help us. We need to make invoices in the mobilie device the next Monday....................
I upgraded tonight so I could get the mobile app and it gives me an error

If you continue to have this problem, please check your internet connection, firewall settings and that the Dropbox account is accessible.
When I log into my drop box- it shows my computer, my ipad and account edge but when I am in account edge, I can't sign into to put my device in.

I called and they fixed mine over the phone.
They logged into my computer and had to update to the most current version of account edge. Oddly enough, it was just "new tax tables" but it works great.
I would try that - we did everything on the computer side first and then tried it on the ipad.

@Robin: What happens when you try to connect AccountEdge Desktop
with Dropbox? Does AccountEdge freeze and crash? What error do you
receive when you try to link it? Is the error coming when
AccountEdge is trying to send files to Dropbox?
Can you walk us through the process you are going through and
what you see when it fails?

@Robin: I just need one more piece of information from you. I
need to know what version of AccountEdge Basic you are using. If
you go to the top menu bar next to the Apple icon and click on
AccountEdge Basic, then About AccountEdge, can you tell me what the
version and build number says?
From what it appears from the screenshot, it looks like you are
using an outdated version of AccountEdge. Dropbox recently released
a new updated API for apps to connect to, and in turn we recently
an update for that.

AccountEdge Mobile can only be used on the current versions of
AccountEdge Desktop only. When Dropbox updated their API, we came
out with updates for those current versions. In order for you to
connect to Dropbox, you will need to be on AccountEdge Basic v2
Im having similar issues. All of a sudden I cant link my work computer to dropbox. When I try logging in it just cycles back to the login box. Status says "waiting to be linked." Ive unisntalled, reinstalled but it still wont link. I tried unlinking the device via DB but that didn't do the trick either. Please help. Im totally stuck. I can only access my files by logging in online, or from my home computer. TIA
I have a quick questions about Dropbox. My computer, laptop and iphone are all linked to Dropbox. They have been working great until my computer decided to stop connecting to Dropbox. It just says 'connecting....' when I go on Dropbox icon on bottom right of screen. Have you got any ideas how I can sort this out please?
