Can't link to Dropbox account w/ AccountEdge

I am trying to link to AccountEdge Mobile but I keep getting

"The Dropbox account could not be linked.

Please verify the Dropbox account and password entered and try again."

I've checked my entries numerous times and used the same login on my computer and phone fine, "Dropbox" that is, with no problem. I talked to support on the phone and they tell me the usual about caps, leading or trailing spaces and I'm not doing that.

I did load my AccountEdge file online because someone suggested that I would be able to access my account on another computer since I have a laptop and desktop. This works great.

I then created a new Dropbox account just to see if that was the issue and it still does not allow me to link.

    Hi Simon

     

    I’m not using AccountEdge. I just want to install dropbox in my office computer to access files that I have saved in my dropbox account.

    There’s something that is preventing my computer to connect to my dropbox account when I try to login. It doesn’t give an error, it just keep cycling the login screen and the status is waiting to connect to dropbox account.

    Are you able to help on this ?

    @Gim - This discussion is for issues with AccountEdge Accounting Software linking with Dropbox. If you are looking for assistance with the Dropbox itself, I would recommend emailing them or seeing if they have a support page on their website.

    I am unable to link my Dropbox account with Accountedge Pro. I have how ever linked it on my accountedge mobile. I have the current version of Accountedge and Dropbox. It keeps telling me to check the email address and password which I know is correct. I have no issues with internet or anything else that I can tell.

    Please advise.

    Hello Tina,

    Could you tell me which version you are on? You can check by opening your software, going to the AccountEdge menu, and selecting About AccountEdge. You look through the first page of posts on this thread, other users were able to fix this issue by upgrading. Perhaps you're on an older version?

    i am having the same problem. i have file and printer sharing on. i also repeatedly installed and deleted the app. to no avail. every attempt to link ends in this message:
     Please verify the Dropbox account and password entered and try again.

     If you continue to have this problem, please check your internet connection, firewall settings and that the
     Dropbox account is accessible.
