Multiple Currency Support in AEM

Be forewarned that AEM does NOT seem to support multiple currencies or even non Canadian currencies for that matter. None of my Cards set to USD will sync to AEM from the desktop. So, AEM will not be a great help to you if you do business in both Canada and the USA or any other country for that matter. I see little value in developing a mobile app that does not support the full range of features in the desktop version. I'm fine with treating AEM as a mobile input terminal for the desktop, but NOT if it can't handle the full range of transactions that I do on my desktop.

Actually a small percentage of AccountEdge customers use the multi-currency functionality. Granted, the percentage is higher in Canada than in let's say Australia. Supporting multiple currencies is on our list to do in the future but I can't commit to a time line.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with your comment about the app not have value if it doesn't mirror the full range of features that the desktop provides. AccountEdge Mobile is a companion app that will most likely never match the feature set of the desktop application which is very very deep. For example, we might not ever allow you to run payroll from the mobile app or adjust inventory balances and values. We probably won't also be able to mirror the over 100 reports as well.

Our plans are to provide features that make sense to have on the mobile apps and provide more functionality to those features over time so that if you're using Inventory Locations or Multiple Currency features, you'll be able to use the app. Unfortunately it's something we can't do overnight and will take some time.

Thanks again for your feedback. We do appreciate it.

    Simon,

I'm not suggesting that the AEM app match the functionality of the
desktop version, but if it's current purpose is to enable me to create
transactions on the go, then I should be able to create any of my
transactions in the currencies that I use in the desktop version.

In effect, if I can only create a subset of the transactions I typically
and need to create in my desktop version, then it is of no use to me.
